PICKERING NP / AC

   Thought to be out of production, the Pickering NP / AC has always been available. It is a very popular cartridge among restorers of vintage record changers and in many cases was the original cartridge installed at the factory.
The NP / AC is a rugged design tracking up to 7 grams and offering a high output of 10 mv. It is ideal for those old Garrard and KLH systems, among others.

   Built for reliability and ruggedness, the NP / AC has graced many an automatic changer. They can be found in BSR's, Garrards and KLH's. Anywhere a rugged high output cartridge was required.

   The unique design of the Pickering, with the stylus occupying just the bottom half of the cartridge, allowed tonearm designers to bury half of the cartridge up into the tonearm head.

   Those older clunky record changers are hard on a stylus, dropping it down at the start of the record and yanking it from the lead out groove at the end. There are very few designs that can tolerate that sort of punishment. The NP / AC is just one of those cartridges

   The NP / AC is also a good choice for automatic changers like older Garrard's KLH, and BSR's. In fact It may have been standard equipment when the changer was new!

   The Hi Output designs can overcome noise problems with older tube type preamps.
