NUMARK TT500

Shaped metal top uses hard rubber laminations to produce a very solid, resonant free chassi.

  But the real news is the new motor. This is a beast of a motor that offers superb speed control under the load of heavy tracking forces and heavy records like Edison Diamond Discs. With 5KG of torque, the start up time is truly "don't blink or you'll miss it" fast!
The motor is reversable and offers ranges of 8, 10, 20, or 50% variable speed at all speeds 33, 45 and 78 rpm. Even the start and stop times are adjustable.

  This model includes both the short straight arm and the low distortion Curved arm. ( The Numark Picture shows the short straight arm, but we do not reccomend it for hi fi purposes)

   Collector's package includes everything to play Lp's, 45's and 78 rpm. Stanton 500EMKII for LP's and Stanton KS500-27 78 RPM cartridge; both pre-mounted on their own head shells. That's a $115 value when purchased separately.

   Wide speed range use to be a luxury only afforded in custom modified turntables. With the Numark TT500 this is no longer true. You get historic speed range with a full factory warranty.

   The powerful direct drive is the way to go especially if you collect Edison Diamond Discs. These discs weigh nearly a pound and can place considerable strain on belt drive's.

All cords are fully detachable. The phono signal and ground wires. The power cable uses a standard IEC connection.

   The really great features to take note of with the TT500 are, I believe, the powerful motor, wide arc manual tone arm and the economic price.

   The wide arc of the tonearm makes playing very small records like "Little Wonder" discs a trouble free affair. Many manual tonearms have "stops" that prevent reaching this far, and of course, automatic tonearms will return long before the record is over.

   Another neat feature is the variable speed which gives 39 to 117 rpm on the 78 speed setting. That's more than enough change to cover nearly any historical recording!

You should note that the TT500 does not include a dustcover.
