ADC ASTRION

    The ADC Astrion is the last big hurrah from ADC featuring a sapphire rod cantilever and hyperelliptical nude stylus tip.
KAB has only a few of these unique collector's items. I do not have the original packaging, but the cartridge is nicely packaged in a jewel box with a headshell, and mounting hardware. Being old stock and over 20 years old, I cannot extend any warranty to this sale. I have mounted and tested one and it worked very well and sounded quite good. Resonance was 11 hz in a Technics headshell, on a Technics arm. That's an effective mass of 12 grams.

Only one Astrion left. This one is not perfect. the cantilever points slightly to one side. This can be overcome by aligning to the cantilever. Price reduced for this final sale.

   This design retains the warmth and full bodied mids and mid bass induced magnets are known for while achieving greater detail in the treble with improved inside groove tracing.

   Sapphire rod cantilevers are things that are touted today, but here is a mass produced cartridge that instilled those virtues in a much more affordable design.
