Discmaster V3 A.E.

   Designed specifically for the Technics SL-1200 MKII. This cartridge is practically free of midrange "edge"; a second harmonic distortion often mistaken for enhanced detail. With the DM V3 AE there is a swell of ambient detail that surrounds voices and instruments. The kind of inner detail normally reserved for expensive low output moving coils. You really have to hear this to believe it!

Features Nude Elliptical contact diamond stylus , ultra low mass pentamet™ cantilever, ultra quiet and 3-dimensional "In Line" 4-coil circuit. Very smooth and extended response. Hi Compliance suspension mates well with low to medium mass tonearms. Resonates at 9 Hz in a Technics 1200 Tonearm which is rated at 12 grams of effective mass.

Includes D22E Original 0.2 x 0.7 nude elliptical stylus. Hand installed, aligned and inspected.
Each cartridge is fully tested and a report is included.

This is not for DJ applications. The KAB/Stanton DM V3 AE tracks at a very light 0.75 to 1.5 grams.

   The Discmaster V3 AE will fit any standard "S" tonearm. However, alignment is only guaranteed with the Technics SL-1200 MK2, and 3

   The D22E stylus represents a time when Stanton was a leading audiophile brand. Beautiful short low mass cantilever and true line contact Stereohedron tip.

   The unique 4 coil circuit performs a hum canceling operation and also aids in improving the channel separation. The low mass, incredibly short cantilever tracks demanding passages with ease.

Stanton's standard mount cartridges have the coil assembly mounted at right angles to the moving magnet. If we induce vertical and lateral vibration into the tonearm, this cartridge output shows a random phase pattern.
But with the inline design of the Discmaster V3, vertical vibration induced into the tonearm produces a vertical signal, lateral vibration produces a lateral signal. This "phase alignment" tells me there is an advantage to the inline design. All things being equal, the DM V3 delivers more realism and less distortion.

This is a nude cantilever design.
The cantilever is not protected in any way. You must decide that you can offer the respect that a nude stylus demands. They are easier to bump, hit and destroy. Keep all that in mind before you purchase it.

A word about cartridge weight. These cartrdges weigh 18 grams. Remember that there is no headshell, so that weight must be made up internally within the cartridge design. A conventional Stanton 681 and Technics headshell weighs 16.5 grams. so the difference is only 1.5 grams.

   The really great features to take note of with the Discmaster V3 AE are, I believe, the unique "sound" and great performance. This is one of the few cartridges that gets all the harmonics right. A very uniform sound quality from bottom to top.

   KAB created this special cartridge exclusively for the Technics 1200. Those who follow our developments here at KAB know that we believe the 1200 to be without peer.

   I wish to reiterate that this is a nude cantilever design. the cantilever is not protected and will require great care and respect.
