Tonearm Wand Liner |
If you
drop the arm wand onto a table it will bounce several times. I tried cotton,
then PVC lining, and yes even outer heatshrink tubing, and none would stop the
arm from bouncing. Then I tried this unique 0.032"thin wall super soft
rubber tubing. It weighs only 3 grams, and changes the the arm force setting by
only one half gram. It slips easily into the arm wand and fits like a glove.
And now, when you drop the arm on a table, it just stops dead, no bouncing. It
really is quite remarkable. If you are planning to rewire your arm, this is a must. Supplied cut to length for the 1200 arm wand. This comes standard with our 1200 rewire kit. It should be inserted from the rear of the arm tube so that it just clears the 2 mounting holes. |

| Aux Weight For Heavy Cartridges   Hanger Screw |
Heavy
cartridges like Ortofon SPU require a more substantial Aux weight to use them
in the 1200 Tonearm. To determine the weight you need, use this formula: (Cartridge weight + Headshell weight) ÷ 0.2 - 100. Ex, 30 ÷ 0.20 - 100 = 50. This should achieve balance with the main counterweight set all the way back. Giving you about 4 grams of forward adjustment. From that point to move the weight forward, the ratio is 3.5 to 1. So to move the counterwieght 1 gram you must add 3.5 grams more and so on. |

Here.This hinge kit includes 2 hinges, 2 receptacles and 4 mounting
screws. You can also order hinges, receptacles and screws separately as needed. The hinges are the same for all 1200's from 1979 to present. The receptacles are only for pre 2010 models. When adding hinges to your M3D, be sure your turntable has the metal hinge mounting plate on the back with the two pilot holes to accept the self tapping screws. Some early M3D's will have plates but no holes. For those, we suggest getting the MK2 hinge plate below and convert it to a MK2 style adjustable hinge. |

KAB has reproduced many of the Technics 1200 circuit boards. This is the Strobe LED board that mounts inside the strobe housing. It is slightly different in that a position for a dimmer resistor has been added. If you do not want to dim the lamps, just install a jumper wire across the 2 points shown in the picture. I find that some lamps, particularly blue and white can be too brite and adding 100 ohms can bring them back to a sane intensity. reproduction pitch controls are availalble. Pitch controls are serviced by desoldering the old one and re soldering the new one. The pitch control is assembled in the following order: Control, Shading Cloth, Decorative Plate, Felt Spacer and Knob. Shading cloth is peel and stick and attaches to underside of top plate. Our Green LED matches original illumination. Blue LED comes with 2.2K Ohm resistor to match original Illumination. D301 is a Zener diode located on the main motor board that often causes the pitch control to misbehave due to voltage drift after warm up. Our Diode is overated compared to the stock diode. Our new Repro Pitch PCB fits all versions except M5G. Though not shown, the calibration trimmer control is included. |

| The two switch styles are
shown at the top. Newer small one on the right, older larger one on the
left. Models before about 2003 used the larger speed switch style. But you should confirm your model before ordering. Old style has a rectangular pin outline and is large 12mm x 12mm. New style has a square pin outline on the PC board and is 6m x 6m . Also, on the older style always check the old switch for shim spacers. You will need to peel them off and transfer them to the new switch. |
